Advanced Aerial Search and Rescue Operations is an advanced course designed for agencies that are tasked with searches for people. The class is 16 hours (2 Days). Drones provide a unique capability to quickly locate missing persons, assess dangerous terrain, and guide rescue teams to their destination. Drones can be used for various tasks in search and rescue operations. These include aerial surveillance to locate missing persons, reconnaissance of dangerous terrain, mapping hazardous areas, and providing real-time information to rescue teams. Coordination of airborne assets to ground units is the difference between a successful mission or failure. Communication is key to ensuring that a complete and thorough search is conducted. Coordination of ground-based responders and K9 teams which act as a force multiplier in all searches will be discussed This is an advanced class all students are expected to have completed the basic operation class (or equivalent) . * Night search option can be added to class.
Class is composed of 30 percent classroom 70 percent field work.
